Cleanup and Ending Your Session

The Blackburn Room should be returned to the state in which it was found. The booking schedule is tight, and leaving the Room disordered will impact other events negatively.

Furniture

The Blackburn Room is normally configured with 6 tables (2 curved rows of 3 tables) with 4 chairs around each (24 total). Unused furniture belongs in the furniture storage closets at the front left and right of the room behind the sliding panels.

Furniture Layout

Please return the room to this state unless explicitly instructed otherwise by your Booking Contact.
Please report any noticed damage or spills to to your Booking Contact.

Chairs

Unused chairs should be properly stored:

  • Fold seats back.
  • Stack chairs shopping cart style.
  • Store the chairs in the furniture storage areas at the front of the room.

Tables

Table Details

Unused tables should be properly stored:

  • Fold the table tops back by simultaneously pulling both handles located under the front edge of the table surface.
  • Unplug powerbar extension cords from floor outlets.
  • Pull all but 30 cm of the extension cords up into the metal gray boxes, and loop excess to prevent draping on the floor.
  • Unlock rollers by lifting the gray levers on the front wheels.
  • Store the tables in the furniture storage areas at the front of the room.

Lectern

Please return the lectern to its normal position, if it was relocated. The lectern should be at the front of the room, immediately between the two projector screens.

Desk

Please return the desk to its normal position, if it was relocated. The desk should be at the left (south) side of the room, immediately underneath the window to the outside public area.

Blinds

Please return the blinds to the half-way position.

Blind are controlled from the Crestron Panel. Select the Blinds button on the right of the screen and press the Raise or Lower options that appear along the top of the screen to start the blinds moving. The blinds will stop automatically when fully open or closed, or can be left partially open by pressing Stop when desired.

CAUTION: Unlike most blinds, these roll from the bottom. Please confirm no items have fallen into the roller before the blinds are lowered. If you cannot retrieve foreign materials, please do not lower the blinds. Instead, notify your Booking Contact for assistance.

Audio/Visual Peripherals

All equipment except for the wired keyboard and mouse should be returned to the locked Equipment Cupboard by the main door. Please confirm the following items are accounted for.

Lectern cupboard

  • one black, Dell Wired Computer Keyboard (connected to USB cable from podium)
  • one black, Dell Wired Computer Mouse (plugged into USB port on keyboard)
  • one white, six outlet, 2-metre (6 foot) powerbar

Equipment Cabinet

Upper Shelf

  • eight Hearing Assistance Receivers
    • Turn off each receiver and insert in silver storage case.
  • eight Hearing Assistance Headphones
    • Place in cardboard box with cords neatly wound.
  • one Hearing Assistance Receiver Storage Case
    • Note: Case must be plugged in to allow receivers to recharge.
    • Note: Case must be left open to prevent overheating.
  • one black, Logitech Wireless Keyboard
    • move switch above numpad to OFF position (leftward)
    • replace dongle into storage slot in the back, and return keyboard to box
  • one red, Logitech Wireless Mouse
    • Turn off by moving switch on underside leftward to OFF position.
    • Place mouse in assisted hearing receiver storage case.
  • one black, Logitech Presentation Remote
    • Turn off by moving switch on left side forward (with red showing) to OFF position.
    • Place remote in black protective pouch and place in assisted hearing receiver storage case
  • one black Wireless Handheld Microphone
    • Turn off by moving switch on front down to OFF position.
  • one black Wireless Lapel Microphone with attached Wireless Transmitter
    • Turn off by moving switch on transmitter to OFF position.
  • one black Mimo Magic Touch, 10-inch USB confidence monitor
  • one package of 9V batteries
  • one package of AA batteries
  • one package of AAA batteries

Lower Shelf

  • one 3-metre (10-foot) VGA cable (no audio cable)
  • one 7-metre (25-foot) VGA cable with attached 1/8-inch audio cable
  • one 3-metre (10-foot) HDMI cable [MISSING]
  • one Polycom SoundStation 2W Phone Conferencing Console
    • Note: Console must be plugged in to allow internal battery to remain charged.
  • one Polycom SoundStation2 Phone Conferencing Base Station
  • two Polycom Extended Microphones
    • Place in cardboard box with cords neatly wound.
  • two 4-metre (12-foot) Polycom extension audio cables
    • Place in cardboard box, neatly wound.
  • one blue 5-metre (16-foot), three-outlet Electrical Extension Cord

Garbage

Garbage should be collected and placed in the receptacles outside the main door. Please don't leave food behind as doing so attracts vermin.

Other Items

Please don't forget your USB storage keys. Please take any extra handouts and papers with you when you leave.
